Electric Mopeds
An electric moped is a type of motorized scooter, that moves at a much lower speed than any autmobile, but is still much faster than walking or using a man-powered bicycle (although the former is better for your health). The difference between a regular moped and an electric moped is that the electric mopeds are powered by an electric motor instead of a gas motor.
In these days with the cost of the gas prices as high as they are, and also unstable -- as well as helping the environment, an electric moped is just the smarter choice to make. They are great for teens and younger people, as they are a cheap and reliable form of transportation -- and for anyone who lives in a city or urban environment because the electric moped allows for quick and unmatched transportation for the price.
If you are going to purchase an electric moped, there are a few things you have to consider. The first is whether or not you will need a license to ride your moped legally on the street. This law depends upon your county and state within you live, so please check with your local law departments before driving your electric moped on the roads.
The MPH and distance your electric moped can go before it needs charging will depend on the model you purchase, some of the cheaper models can go 18-22 MPH and you can expect them to go around 20 miles before needing a charge. Most electric mopeds come with multiple batteries, 2 or 3, so you can charge them all up and bring them with you for up to 60 miles of travel on even the cheapest models of electric mopeds (under $300.00).
